Is Heritage Community Credit Union really going to allow me to skip my next loan payment when I open a new checking account?
Yes, as long as your name is on the loan and the new checking account. Skip an additional loan payment when you add at least one qualifying Direct Deposit of $500 or more within 30 days of opening the checking account.
Is there a fee to apply?
No. The normal $35 fee does not apply for these Skip-A-Pay offers.
Will I receive a debit card?
Yes, you will receive a debit card 7-10 business days after the account opening process is completed. You are able to order checks with your new checking account.
Will this affect my credit?
No. We do not perform a credit check for this promotional offer. The skip-a-payment offer is not considered a late or delinquent payment. You should have no adverse effect to your credit score.

*Offer valid for current Heritage Community Credit Union (HCCU) members who do not have a HCCU checking account and who have an eligible consumer loan in good standing. Eligible consumer loans include auto loans, personal loans, and recreational vehicle loans. Excluded loan types are mortgages, home equity lines of credit (HELOC), fixed home equity loans, credit cards, and lines of credit. This offer is unavailable to existing HCCU members whose checking accounts have been closed for less than 180 days or closed with a negative balance. Account opening is based on approval.
To qualify for the first skip-a-payment, the member must open a new HCCU checking account. To qualify for the second skip-a-payment, the member must also set up a recurring direct deposit of $500 or more per month into the newly opened checking account. Direct Deposit payments must be made by a payroll provider or government benefit providers using the ACH network. Person-to-person payments (such as Zelle®) are not considered a direct deposit.
Interest will continue to accrue during the skipped periods, and skipping payments may extend the loan term. Maximum of two (2) skip-a-payments allowed under this promotion. Loan must be current at the time of skip request. Other restrictions may apply. Offer subject to change or end at any time without notice.
